Storage Conditions

USDA recommended storage 50° to 55° F. (10.0° to 12.8° C.) Approximate freezing point 29.4° F. (-1.4° C.) Lemons are quite susceptible to chilling injury, and should be transported and hauled at temperatures as indicated. Lemons held at temperatures lower than this for any significant period of time, may exhibit chilling injury. The symptoms of chilling injury may take the form of pitting, brown staining, a darkening of the oil glands or a rind breakdown resembling scald or Albedo browning.
